Description

Distilled in June 2006 and matured for nearly two decades in a second-fill sherry butt, this expression was crafted with a focus on poise and regional clarity. The long maturation period allowed the earthy, maritime smoke to integrate seamlessly with deep sherry-driven notes of dried fruit and spice. A limited outrun of only 592 bottles was produced from cask #20001/2006, each featuring a label inspired by the intricate Japanese art of Kirigami.

The experience begins with a complex nose of peat smoke and wild honey, underpinned by stewed orchard fruits and a subtle hint of Christmas spice. On the palate, a thick, syrupy texture unfolds with layers of dark chocolate-covered berries and prunes, balanced by a bold dash of Chinese five-spice. The journey concludes with a long and memorable finish where coastal peat meets gentle wood spice and a refined touch of roasted coffee.

So which are the two distilleries representing the regions in this blended malt? Roumors say Laphroaig and Macallan but one cannot be sure of course...
