Bert Bruyneel began with an eight-year Barbados core that tastes of grilled pineapple and warm demerara, folded in a creamy five-year Dominican rum for silk, then sparked it all with a three-year Jamaican parcel whose dunder funk flicks pepper and clove into the mix. Each component matured in ex-bourbon barrels at its home distillery before the casks converged in Belgium, where Bruyneel balanced them by taste alone—no lab sugar tweak, no colour top-up, no filtration to sand off the edges. Pop the cork and ripe banana, charred pineapple and a wisp of varnished oak burst out, chased by subtle Jamaican esters that keep things cheeky. First sips glide across caramel-soaked pastry, vanilla custard and honeyed citrus peel before the finish lingers on dry spice and a breath of salt-air oak, never once sliding into syrupy territory.
