Description

This is the fourth Blair Athol bottling of Chapter 7. Selim, the founder of Chapter 7, is more-and-more drawn to this old distillery in the charming Pitlochry, one of his favorite towns. The majority of the distillery’s production goes into bourbon hogsheads and ends up in Bell’s blended scotch. Fortunately, some of this nutty and malty spirit goes to independent bottlers who, usually, put it in sherry casks. Not this time though.

This bottling matured in its original Bourbon hogshead for over 10 years. It shows a full-bodied malty character with clear Bourbon influence. Orange, vanilla, raisins and maize bread slowly giving way to over baked pear tart, ginger, cinnamon and a hint of bay leaf. 

Another undisturbed, no-nonsense, superior quality whisky showing the true house style of a lesser-known distillery from Chapter 7.
