Claxton's Inchmurrin 2017 - 8 years old

Loch Lomond Distillery, founded in 1965 in Alexandria on the southern shore of Scotland's most famous loch, runs a unique set-up of straight-neck pot stills fitted with rectifying plates — allowing spirit to be drawn at different strengths and producing several entirely distinct malt styles from the same site. Inchmurrin is the distillery's unpeated, floral expression; eight years in a Fresh PX Sherry Hogshead have dramatically transformed its character, delivering rich dark fruit and exotic sweetness well beyond its usual profile. The nose is creamy-sweet with aged tequila and a hint of BBQ smoke; the palate rich and fruity — Amaro, Cointreau and coffee; the finish long and sweet, closing on bitter orange. EXP1092, 50% ABV, natural colour, non-chill filtered.
