Description

This release from North Star Spirits captures a vibrant maturation for Linkwood. The spirit was distilled in 2016 and matured in a combination of refill hogsheads and sherry octaves before being bottled in 2025 under the Single Cask Series 026 at 52.9% ABV and 700 ml. During its time in the smaller, high wood-contact octaves, the spirit picked up lively orchard fruits, vanilla, caramel and subtle spice — creating a drama between freshness and rich sherry character. On the nose you’ll find ripe apples, pears and peaches overlaid with raisins, toffee and a hint of clove; the palate opens with creamy toffee, warm oak and dried fruits, all built on a supple malt-foundation; the finish lingers with honeyed sultanas, gentle oak spice and a polished sweetness. Bottled without chill-filtration and at natural colour, this expression gives enthusiasts a vibrant snapshot of Linkwood’s character in an uncommon cask style. Ideal for fans of Speyside whiskies who appreciate clarity of spirit as well as bold sherry-cask expression.
