Shizuoka Distillery uses two spirit stills, both very traditional in its own way. The K still is the original spirit still of the legendary old Karuizawa distillery. The W still is a very traditional direct wood-fired spirit still which needs special skills to operate. This release, the United S, is the marriage of the spirits coming from these two spirit stills. A marriage of the Scottish and Japanese whisky history, one can say. A very well balanced and fresh whisky sowing depth.
