This 13-year-old Speyside single malt is a rare and zesty expression that showcases the delicate, grassier side of the region, uniquely enhanced by a finish in a first-fill Spanish white wine barrique. Bottled at a powerful 56.7% ABV, it offers a sophisticated profile where the distillery's naturally light, nutty character meets a vibrant Mediterranean influence.

Glen Spey is one of Scotland’s more elusive distilleries, having started its life as an oatmeal mill before its founder, James Stuart, added distilling equipment to the site in 1878; it even holds the distinction of being the first Scottish distillery ever purchased by an English company. According to local lore, the distillery is home to a restless spirit of its own—a soldier from the Second World War who is said to haunt the grounds in full uniform—but the only spirit you’ll find in this bottle is an exceptionally bright one, distilled in January 2012 and matured for thirteen years. The Spanish white wine barrique has imparted a zesty, tannic profile brimming with orchard fruits and a crisp minerality, with only 230 bottles produced from cask #800029. This limited release opens with aromas of fresh grass and light citrus, leading to a palate of honeyed malt and green apple that concludes in a dry, refreshing finish.
