Distilled in January 2013 and matured for twelve years, this whisky was finished in a single Sauvignon Blanc barrique, a cask type known for imparting bright acidity and fresh herbal complexity. The nose opens with an intriguing mix of gooseberries, lemon zest, and a touch of baked bread, while the palate reveals a drying texture filled with green apple, honey, and a prickly peppery spice that leads into a short, crisp finish of dried fruit. Only 301 bottles were drawn from cask #2311807/2013, making this limited edition a fascinating choice for those who appreciate a clean, wine-influenced dram with a spirited Highland-style backbone.
