Description

Distilled in October 2008 and matured for sixteen years in a single American oak bourbon barrel, this whisky has developed a rich, honeyed character that stands apart from the typical island profile. The patient aging process has allowed the spirit to mellow, integrating notes of baked fruits with a subtle, smouldering earthy smoke reminiscent of an extinguished log fire. Only 166 bottles were drawn from cask #705897/2008, ensuring this remains an exclusive glimpse into Jura’s versatile craftsmanship.

The nose opens with an inviting layer of whipped cream and white sugar, followed by crisp green apple and a twist of orange peel that evolves into fresh basil and a faint, smouldering peat. On the palate, an initial syrupy sweetness of honey and light caramel is joined by salted chocolate and a gentle peppery spice, creating a beautifully rounded mouthfeel. The story concludes with a long, dry finish where the sweetness of orchard fruits meets a lingering touch of toffee and delicate earthy undertones.
