The Japanese Shizuoka Distillery does not only cherish the legacy of the Karuizawa still but also revitalizes a very tratidional way of whisky making: direct wood-fired pot still distillation. Direct fired stills need more attention and skill to operate but in return they give deeper flavours to the spirit. This particular whisky was made entirely from Japanese barley and was distilled in the direct wood-fired pot still of Shizuoka Distillery. This is the First Edition. It is so delicious that we do hope more will follow.
