Description

Distilled in September 2018 at the environmentally conscious Nc'Nean Distillery and bottled in February 2025 by North Star Spirits, this whisky spent its entire maturation in a shaved, toasted, and re-charred (STR) red wine barrique. This cask treatment, developed to enhance the interaction between the spirit and wood, imparts a rich and complex flavor profile. The nose reveals notes of marzipan-coated bananas and barley sugars, while the palate offers salted cashews and a touch of spice. The finish is long and warming, with lingering notes of toffee and dried fruits.

Nc'Nean Distillery, located on the west coast of Scotland, is known for its organic and sustainable practices, aiming to create innovative and delicious whiskies with the smallest possible environmental footprint. This release exemplifies their forward-thinking approach to whisky-making.

Bottled at cask strength (59.1% ABV), non-chill filtered, and natural in color, this limited release of just 285 bottles offers a unique opportunity to experience Nc'Nean's distinctive style.
