Description

Tobermory distillery was founded in 1798 as Ledaig by John Sinclair, and still stands in Tobermory's harbour village as the Isle of Mull's only whisky producer. The peated Ledaig expression is made from heavily smoked Port Ellen malt at 35–40 PPM, fermented in Oregon pine washbacks. Three years in a PX Sherry Barrel have already yielded smoked cheese, leather and cigar smoke on the nose, with kippers alongside. The palate brings sweet smoke and mesquite chips, rich and full-bodied; the finish warms with sherry and oak smoke. EXP1086, 50% ABV, natural colour, non-chill filtered.
