Royal Brackla is not a name you see often in single malt circles, which is precisely why Claxton's Exploration Series shines. They give the spotlight to spirits usually reserved for blended royalty. Distilled on 14th June 2018, this Highlander spirit was destined for a quiet life, but Claxton's had other, more decadent plans for it.
The spirit spent its entire maturation life soaking up the deep, dark, raisiny character of a Fresh PX Sherry Hogshead. Pedro Ximénez (PX) casks are the absolute epitome of sherry sweetness, and at only seven years old (bottled in 2025), the spirit's natural fruity character has been completely enveloped in layers of rich, intense flavour.
Bottled at a perfect, full strength of 50.0% Vol. (70cl), this young expression punches far above its weight class. It is, of course, presented as Natural Colour and is Non-Chill Filtered, ensuring the vibrant PX influence is delivered to you exactly as it left the cask.
