Description

Ardnamurchan Distillery opened in 2014 on one of Scotland's remotest peninsulas, powered by hydro-electric energy and a local biomass boiler fuelled by the surrounding forest. The spirit still's reflux bowl and narrow neck, combined with fermentations of over 72 hours, yield a spirit with real elegance beneath the peat smoke. Eight years in a Bourbon Barrel have brought sweet oils, smoke and malt on the nose, earthy and biscuity. The palate is shortbread and soot with malty sweetness; the finish is dry, with white pepper and smoked malt. Cask C25140, 57.6% ABV, natural colour, non-chill filtered.
