Description

Distilled in 2011 and bottled in 2025 by North Star Spirits as part of the Obscurities & Curiosities series, this Caol Ila captures the harmony of smoke, brine and fruit that defines the distillery’s style. The nose opens with sea breeze, citrus peel and soft bonfire ash; the palate brings together smoked malt, salted caramel, lemon oil and warm spice. The finish is long and slightly drying, with lingering notes of driftwood, sweet peat and coastal minerals. Bottled at 48.5 % ABV, non-chill-filtered and naturally coloured, this small-batch release is a perfect entry into North Star’s curious world of Islay craftsmanship.
