Claxton's The Red Comyn 12 years old

Named after the once-mighty fortress of the Comyn clan, whose ruins once stood on the Dalswinton Estate, this whisky nods to a past clouded in mystery, power struggles, and bloodline betrayals. The link to John "The Red" Comyn — a pivotal figure in Scotland’s medieval history — gives this release a story as bold as its flavour.

Distilled in the heart of Speyside and aged for 12 years, this expression was finished in hand-selected ruby port casks sourced directly from Portugal. The result is a single malt with a warm red hue and a flavour profile that’s both indulgent and refined — notes of red berries, dried figs, gentle spice, and toasted oak, with the port influence adding a luxurious depth to the finish.

Bottled at 48% ABV, non-chill filtered and natural in colour, this whisky is made to be savoured — ideally with a dram in hand and a good story to tell.
