Released in 2024 at a natural cask strength of 56.9% Vol., this is Aultmore in its most authentic form. Mark Watt’s selection criteria are simple: it has to be a whisky he wants to drink himself. With its Natural Colour and Non-Chill Filtered presentation, this bottle is a masterclass in Speyside purity. Only 329 bottles were produced from this single cask.
Flavour Profile: Orchard Fruits and Lemon Zest
This is a "summer in a glass" kind of dram, but with a serious cask strength kick. The nose is wonderfully fresh and aromatic, filled with notes of green apples, freshly cut grass, and a touch of elderflower.
On the palate, it’s crisp and zingy. Expect a burst of lemon curd, vanilla sponge, and a beautiful malty sweetness that coats the tongue. The high ABV gives it a fantastic structure, bringing a light, warming spice (think white pepper) that keeps things exciting.
The finish is clean, floral, and surprisingly long, leaving a lingering taste of sweet barley and citrus peel.
